Funding & Research Collaboration

The Center for Transformative Health pursues research funding that supports our work across infectious disease, chronic disease, the structural systems that connect them, and community-engaged research and infrastructure. We welcome conversations with funders and research partners whose priorities align with our portfolio.

For Funders

CTH's research is supported by federal grants, foundation funding, and institutional resources at Texas Southern University. We are actively building partnerships with funders interested in:

  • Long COVID and post-acute infection research

  • Conceptual and empirical work at the infection–chronic disease interface

  • Community-engaged research and community-controlled health data infrastructure

  • HBCU- and MSI-led public health research capacity-building

If you are a foundation, federal program officer, or other funder interested in alignment with CTH's work, please reach out. We are happy to discuss potential fit, share our capability statement, and explore opportunities for partnership.

CTH actively collaborates with peer institutions on research initiatives that benefit from our community partnerships, our Houston-based research infrastructure, and our scholarly portfolio. We are particularly interested in collaborations that:

  • Bring CTH's community-engaged research approach into multi-site studies

  • Test or apply the bidirectional infection–chronic disease framework empirically

  • Advance the science of community-controlled health data and infrastructure

  • Build research capacity at HBCUs and MSIs

Researchers interested in collaboration are welcome to reach out to discuss potential alignment.
